Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! —Psalm 103:1
When the Lord ‘blesses us’, He reviews our needs and responds to them.; when we ‘bless’ the Lord, we review His excellencies and respond to them…We ‘bless’ the Lord himself before we recount His blessings. All He does stems from Who He is (name) and what He is (holy).” —Nancy Leigh Demoss
List the benefits for which the psalmist expresses gratitude in this verse.
What does these verses reveal about God?
How should we respond to God?
Read Ephesians 1:3-14 and list the many ways God blesses us in Christ Jesus.
Spend some time reflecting on the verses from today. Make a list of the things for which you are grateful. List the things that come to mind easily and make you feel good. But, I challenge and encourage you to list the things which are difficult to give thanks. Praise your God who is majestic and holy and who has blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms!
It’s my prayer that through this series we will, “from the rising of the sun to its setting”, focus on and praise our amazing God! We’ll take the Word for the day and think about it, ponder it, pray it and practice it. We’ll allow it to really SOAK into our hearts and lives. And then we’ll SHINE — boast, rave, praise and celebrate God’s presence in our lives, reflecting Jesus to those around us.
