Let My Soul Live and Praise You

We’ve made it to the end of Psalm 119. Great job, ladies! My prayer is that you have been encouraged, comforted, stretched and renewed in your walk with Christ as you’ve studied this psalm. My challenge and encouragement to us all is that our hearts and minds would continue to resonate with those of the psalmist in these final verses.

The psalmist closes out this psalm declaring his love and his need for the Word of God in his life. We see that in God’s Word he finds great peace, steady feet, hope, joy and direction for life.

He admits his need for God’s presence and the Word of God in his life.

He confesses a heart that is prone to wander and go its own way and yet he recognizes that his ways are always before the Lord.

Magnify His Name!

Gaze means “to look steadily, intently, and with fixed attention. What are you gazing upon today?


His Name IS Advent Devotion: Day 13 

Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. —Psalm 34:3

Think about this idea of magnification with me for a moment. When we use a magnifying glass to observe something, we don’t actually make the object larger. We aren’t altering it’s size, but rather we are altering our perception of that object. When we magnify God, we are extolling and praising Him for who He is. We are giving Him priority in our lives. It’s easy to allow the things of this world to loom large in our sight and fail to acknowledge the One is above all things. It’s easy to become fixated on problems and hardship rather than focus on our God who is mighty and has all things under His sovereign care.
