Where Do You Run?

Names of God

Where do you run…

  • When you’re troubled and worried?
  • When your energy is spent?
  • When you’re weary from running?
  • When you feel insecure?
  • When the day to day tasks have you overwhelmed you?
  • When grief has consumed you?
  • When you’re having trouble finding answers to the questions of life?

In your time of need, where do you turn?

Welcome to our online study on the names of God.  We’ll be studying the names of God using the book by Kay Arthur, LORD, I Want to Know You. It’s an amazing study and one that will be so helpful in making sense of the question: where do I turn?!?

I’ll be posting each week my thoughts and personal study of each of these names of God. I’ll also be including a section titled, Walking in His Name.  These are practical ways I personally found helpful in my spiritual growth as I seek to know the Lord more and walk in His presence and power each day of my life. I don’t believe it’s enough for us to just “know” about God or to build our “library” of Bible studies. I believe when we read and study God’s word it should transform our lives!

God desires a close and personal relationship with each of us. He longs for us to know who He is, so that we might trust Him more fully and experience the hope, joy and peace He brings. He reveals himself to us throughout the pages of Scripture through His names. We find God revealing his character, nature and ways to His people in their time of need. Their stories of heartache, frustration, disappointment, and sorrow are timeless, relatable and relevant to us even today. Because God IS always the same— yesterday, today and forever— we’ll be encouraged, strengthened and comforted as we come to know Him in deeper and greater ways. His name is the strong tower to which we can run for safety. (Proverbs 18:10).

And those who know your name put their trust in you,for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who  seek you. —Psalm 9:10

I’d love for you to join us! You can purchase the book online or simply use the alternate study guide questions that will be provided each week. We’ll share what we’re learning and the questions we have as we seek to know God more, and encourage one another. We’ll do this through the comments on the blog.

Hope to see you there!
