Christmas Is…
But He was pierced for our transgressions;
    He was crushed for our iniquities;
upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
    and with His wounds we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
    we have turned—every one—to his own way;
and the Lord has laid on Him
    the iniquity of us all.

—Isaiah 53:5-6

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” —Galatians 2:20

”There is something majestic about the birth of Jesus. But there is also something safe about it as well. If we can keep Jesus as a baby in our hearts and minds, helpless and small, we can control Him so His majesty doesn’t guide our life. Let Him be Lord of your life, not simply Savior.” —Greg Johnson

His death has brought me life. His chastisement brought me peace. He bore the full weight of my sin—a debt I can never repay. I am humbled and overwhelmed! My response is awe and worship. My heart’s desire and life commitment find expression in Galatians 2:20. Lord, help me to live for you alone!

Rejoicing in Him!
