Immanuel—God with Us

Remember, all the rushing and impatience of NOW! causes us to miss the joy of the moment. As we commit to being intentional this Christmas season and to not allow the hurried and harried NOW! attitude rob us of joy and peace, let’s slow down and soak in the presence of Jesus—Immanuel, God with us.

His Name Is…Advent Devotion: DAY 5

Today we will look at the prophecy found in Isaiah 7:14:

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. —Isaiah 7:14

What words or phrases stand out to you? What do you see foretold about the birth, life or death of Jesus? What do you learn about the character and nature of Jesus?

His name IS…Immanuel, God with us!

“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful. —John 14:27

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. —Galatians 2:20

For I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers, height or depth, or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. —Romans 8:38-39

Jesus’ presence renews, refreshes and enables us to rejoice in the ALL the moments of this often harried and hurried season.

  1. A virgin shall conceive. It keeps resonating in my heart! Through no artificial means as in this day & time! Makes me think “let go, let God” as anything is possible through Him. This would be the most inconceivable & impossible thing to have happen to any woman. He has no limits other than those we put on Him through Incomplete faith. What an awesome God! Thank you Susan!
