Do you know God loves you? If you answered yes, I do not mean just head knowledge, but do you REALLY know it?
Personally, I have struggled with this in certain situations throughout my walk as a believer. My first response would be to say, “Of course I know God loves me.” I know He does. But my actions often reveal an area of my heart and life that does not truly believe He does. I find myself reacting from a place of identity in my past mistakes and failures than from the fact I am known, loved and forgiven in Christ Jesus.

“God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” —1 John 4:9 (NLT)
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory He may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” —Ephesians 3:14-21 (ESV)
